As I said on my home page, My life is my family. I have an amazing husband, Jules and four healthy, beautiful kids. I am blessed.
I've spent the last 16 years being a mom. My oldest is 16 and my youngest is 3. Yes, they get photographed a lot, mostly candids though.
I focus of documenting moments, not just taking portraits. My days are filled with errands, helping run one of my kids San Marcos Pop Warner football or SMYB baseball teams, dance class, SM High FFA or some other volunteer work. By the end of the day, it's hard to remember all the moments. At the end of every year, I take a few days and review the years pictures of my family. I reflect on what we've done, achieved, laughed about, cried about and just did. That's what I do. I document moments. It's how I remember my year. In all the daily hussle and bussle of life, my pictures document the moments of me and my family.
As a child, Family Photo Day meant a day of..."Don't move!", "smile", "say cheese" type moments. I dreaded it! This is not what I do. If I have to roll around with your child to capture their moment, then I will.
In 1989, in Buffalo, N.Y. My family lost most of it's pictures in a house fire. As I started to have children of my own, I would often wonder what did I look like as a child. This rekindled my love for photography. My whole life, I've always been the one to grab a camera and capture a moment and capture a memory. Photography is my other passion.
I love the idea of photography because it tells a story. It's a reminder of what was. A window to the past. I have a horrible memory when it comes to events, so I use photography to remind me of things I would otherwise forget.
I am personally responsible for every aspect of your portraits, from beginning to end. This is the only way I am able to deliver to you what I see with my eyes and what I feel in my heart as the perfect outcome of who is in the portrait.
I also create DVDs. I create DVD movies out of pictures set to music.
